Maybe he’s changed. How is that even possible? I don’t know. Nothing makes sense anymore.

I try not to spend too much time on it [social media]. It’s easy to kind of be sucked in. [But] it’s important to just stay focused on the task at hand, which is, we’re trying to create the best TV show that there is right now. That’s my goal, and I take it very seriously. Because the show has done so well, it comes with certain things — the fandom, the craziness and all that — but I think at the end of the day, you’ve got to stay grounded and just get the job done, you know?

My mother, she said Castiel, he would keep me safe. She said the world was a dangerous place. That’s─that’s why I couldn’t be a baby or a child. That’s why I had to grow up fast. That’s why I chose him to be my father.

I was definitely poking fun at a lot of things that people take to be normal. I was listening to a lot of hip hop and I kind of started to realise that to be cool in hip hop, you have to have that sort of car and drink that sort of vodka and have that sort of watch, and I was like, “I’ve literally never seen one of those watches in my entire life”.
